FAQ

How experienced are you?

My wife and I have extensive knowledge on photography, lighting, and posing. Emily has a Bachelor's in Business and Marketing, and an Associate's in Hospitality and Tourism from BGSU. I went to OSU and NC State College for Computer Science and Engineering and took courses in Photography there as well. Much of our photography knowledge was self-taught through online video courses, hands-on experience, mentorship with another successful photographer, and a whole lot of research and reading. We book between 25-30 weddings per year.

Will there be a second shooter?

All packages include a second shooter.

What kind of gear do you use?

I use a full-frame mirrorless professional camera that captures high-resolution images. I also have an on-camera flash and an off-camera strobe for lighting up dark areas and getting studio-quality light.

Do you charge travel fees?

Only if your wedding is more than 200 miles away from Norwalk, Ohio.

Do I have to order prints through you?

No. Once you have the gallery, you're welcome to print your pictures anywhere you like. However, we do use professional labs to print our products. You can order them on our website once you receive your gallery.

What happens if I need to cancel?

For weddings, I prefer to receive a notice of cancellation 4 weeks before the wedding. However, the retainer of $350 is non-refundable regardless of when you cancel.

When is full payment due?

Full payment is due 3 weeks before your wedding date. The $350 retainer is due upon signing of the contract.

Do you have liability insurance?

Yes we do.

What happens if you have an emergency on our wedding day?

In the extremely unlikely event that we cannot get to your wedding, we have backup shooters that we can call upon to help us out.

An 8-hour Wedding Day

A typical 8-hour wedding day usually starts with the preparation of the bride and the groom. The bride and her bridesmaids will spend several hours getting their hair and makeup done, while the groom and his groomsmen will also prepare for the big day. During this time, the wedding venue will be set up with decorations and the final touches will be put in place.

Next, the ceremony usually begins. This can range from a traditional religious ceremony to a more modern, non-religious ceremony. It typically lasts 30 minutes to an hour and includes an exchange of vows, rings, and a kiss.

After the ceremony, the newlyweds, their families, and their wedding party will take photos to capture memories of the day. This can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the number of photos being taken and the location.

The reception will typically follow the photo session and will include dinner, speeches, and dancing. The reception usually lasts 4 to 5 hours, with dinner being served first, followed by the speeches and then the dancing.

Later in the evening, the couple will typically cut the cake and have their first dance as husband and wife. This is often followed by more dancing and festivities, with the event coming to an end as the newlyweds and their guests say their goodbyes.

It's worth noting that every wedding is unique and the timeline for a wedding day can vary greatly depending on the couple's preferences, religious customs, and cultural traditions.
